Raphacholin is a traditional medical product, whose efficiency in the mentioned indications is based exclusively on long term application and experience. Raphacholin contains dry Spanish radish extract and medicinal carbon (1:1), thick extract of artichoke herb, dehydrocholic acid and peppermint oil. It is a cholagogic and cholepoietic drug (directly influencing liver and stimulating bile secretion). Regular application of the preparation stimulates biliary secretion, which protects liver parenchyma, accelerates elimination of harmful substances with bile and intensifies intestinal peristalsis.
Raphacholin is traditionally applied in case of dyspepsia, digestive disorders related to liver dysfunction (flatulence, belching, nausea, constipations), disorders of gall bladder contractile activity.
Do not use the drug in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components, serious liver diseases, bile ducts obstruction and ileus, acute and chronic inflammatory states of stomach and intestines. In case of cholelithiasis, apply the drug only after consultation with a physician.
HOW TO TAKE Raphacholin
In adults, one to three coated tablets may be taken as a single dose in case of difficulty digestion.
In other cases of indigestion, adults should take 1-2 coated tablets 3 times a day for 30 minutes after a meal.
Constipation – In the morning and evening, 2 coated tablets 30 minutes before a meal.
Use in children
After consultation with your doctor, the medicine can be taken by children over the age of 10 years, with one coated tablet 3 times a day after a meal.
Storage. Do not store at a temperature higher than 25 ºC / 77 °F. Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date which is stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Possible side effects and warnings
The drug safety in case of pregnant women has not been tested and for this reason it is not recommended to independently apply the preparation during this period. The drug safety in case of breast feeding women has not been tested. Some components of the preparation penetrate into mother’s milk and for this reason it is not recommended to independently apply the preparation during this period.
No negative influence of the drug of Raphacholin on the ability to drive vehicles has been found.
So far, no significant interactions with other drugs have been described. In large doses combined with hypotensive and diuretic drugs, Raphacholin may potentially cause hypokaliemia.
In case of high overdose, exceeding many times the recommended dose (taking of several dozen of dragée tablets at one time), sporadic vomiting, diarrhea, dyselectrolitemia, headaches, flush, breathing disorders, cardiac disorders, arrhythmia, muscular cramps, exhaustion, weakness and nausea may appear.
As every drug, Raphacholin may cause undesired effects. These include sporadic loose stools, biliary colic and allergic reactions to the drug components. Discontinue application if any of the above mentioned symptoms appear. In case of other undesired effects, not mentioned here, inform your doctor about them.
