Solpadeine contains three active substances: paracetamol, codeine phosphate hemihydrate and caffeine.

Solpadeine contains three active substances: paracetamol, codeine phosphate hemihydrate and caffeine.
Paracetamol is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine. The anti-inflammatory effect is based on controlling the thermoregulatory centre of the hypothalamus; body temperature drops due to increased peripheral blood flow and sweating.
Codeine phosphate has a moderate analgesic and mild antitussive effect. Codeine may be used in children older than 12 years for short-term treatment of moderate pain that is not relieved by other analgesics, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen. This medicine contains codeine. Codeine is in the group of medicines called opioid analgesics, which reduce pain. It is used separately or in combination with other analgesics, such as paracetamol.
Caffeine is regarded as a component that increases the analgesic effect of a medicine due to its stimulating effect in the central nervous system, which helps relieve pain-related depression.
Solpadeine tablets are used for moderate pain.
