Diosminex is indicated: in the treatment of symptoms associated with venous insufficiency: feeling of heaviness in the legs; legs pain; leg cramps at night; in symptomatic treatment in case of intensification of symptoms associated with haemorrhoids.
Action: Diosminex contains micronized diosmin. This drug increases the tone of the venous vessels and has a protective effect on the vessels.
Dosage: the recommended dose is 2 tablets a day, in two divided doses (morning and evening), during meals. Exacerbation of haemorrhoids: 6 tablets a day for the first 4 days, then 4 tablets a day for the next 3 days. Do not use more than the recommended dose of the drug.
Composition: 1 tablet contains: active substance: micronized diosmin 50mg. Other ingredients: tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate. Coating: talc, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 3350, quinoline yellow lake (E104), indigo carmine lake (E132), sunset yellow lake (E110), iron oxide black (E172) .
Contraindications: allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this drug.
Warnings and precautions:in case of intensification of symptoms related to haemorrhoids, it should be remembered that Diosminex therapy is only symptomatic and should be short-term. If the symptoms persist, an examination by a proctologist should be performed, who will select the appropriate method of treatment. Taking this drug as a symptomatic treatment in case of exacerbation of symptoms related to haemorrhoids does not preclude administration of other drugs rectally. In the case of venous circulation disorders in the lower limbs, the therapeutic effect of Diosminex can be increased by an appropriate lifestyle: avoiding sun exposure; avoiding standing for long periods of time; maintaining an appropriate body weight; wearing special stockings. Drug interactions: Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. Diosmin can increase the blood concentration and decrease the excretion of metronidazole (an antibacterial and antiprotozoal drug) and diclofenac (an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug).
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Ask your doctor for advice before taking Diosminex during pregnancy or if you become pregnant while taking this medicine. Due to the lack of adequate studies on the excretion of the drug in breast milk, it is recommended to avoid breast-feeding while taking Diosminex.
Driving and using machines: Diosminex has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
