Lomexin 2% spray 30ml. Fenticonazole nitrate. Dermatological preparation with fungistatic and fungicidal action.

Lomexin exerts fungistatic and fungicidal action on dermatophytes (responsible for most mycotic skin infections), pathogenic yeasts, dimorphous fungi and moulds. In addition, Lomexin is active against gram positive bacteria and is therefore indicated in mycoses associated with bacterial superinfections. 

Indications

– Dermatomycosis caused by dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton) at different locations: tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea manuum, tinea faciei, tinea barbae, tinea unguium.
– Cutaneous candidasis (intertrigo, perleche, face candidasis, “napkin” rash, perineal and scrotal candidasis); balanitis, balanoposthitis, onychia and paronychia.
– Pytiriasis versicolor (caused by Pytinosporum orbiculare and P. ovale).
– Otomycosis (due to Candida or moulds) only if no lesions of cardrum are present.
– Erythrasma.
– Mycosis with bacterial superinfections )caused by Gram-positive bacteria).

Active ingredient: Fenticonazole nitrate 200 mg
Excipients with known effect: sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Use and dosage 

Lomexin should be applied onceor twice daily, according to medical instructions, on the washed and dried injured area.

Treatment should continue 2-4 weeks.

After topical application a slight burning sensation may occur.

Storage. Do not store at a temperature higher than 25°C/77°F. Do not refrigerate. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Composition

100 g contain: Fenticonazole nitrate 2 g. Excipients: precipitated silica, zinc oxide, talc.

2% spray bottle of 30 ml..

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to fenticonazole nitrate or to any of the excipients. Although transcutaneous and vaginal absorption of fenticonazole is very poor, use of the preparation is not recommended in pregnancy.
